Everybody needs a personal computer (PC). Actually, we can say without a doubt that we can’t live without a computer. But not all of us have the knowledge necessary to work on it, the ability to buy a computer necessary for our purposes, or the skill to repair it when it does not work. Actually they proceed exactly opposite the normal way.

Purchasing a personal computer or upgrading the components of an existent one is a quite common activity, a quite frequent one for a computer user, especially if he is fond of IT. Unfortunately, for most of the users purchasing a personal computer means the worry to buy a monitor, a keyboard and a case which will look nice and probably to be cheap. Nevertheless, in order to respect the money invested, we must say that choosing an efficient hardware configuration is a complex action, which needs time and knowledge, in order to buy a high quality product. The great number of products on the market may be confusing for the user, therefore the number of wrong decisions might be high, with money, time and nerves wasted in vain.

You won’t find any recommendation of a certain product or firm, you will only find suggestions concerning a technology or a brand, or the price reported to the work on the computer, and especially they insist on spending a few additional per cents to the minim price, in order not to have problems with “no name” components, which will generate problems. The saying: “We are too poor in order to afford cheap things” is sometimes applied in the case of computers.

The main aspects when you are going to buy a personal computer are: Choosing between a famous firm, perhaps national company, whose computers are considered “national brands”, with visible shops in the street, attractive windows etc., direct supplier and/or importer for many products, and a more modest firm, in an apartment on a retired street, with few employees, but which usually offer a lower price than well known companies. It is impossible to establish where is better to buy a computer, but studying more about this problem, you will find the most frequent advantages and disadvantages in both cases. One thing is sure: you should avoid buying from those who would say anything in order to sell their products.
